DTP/Production Specialist

We’re looking for an energetic, creative person for freelance work. We handle projects for marketing, technical, and online communications for clients in different industries, from restaurants to high-tech. The Freelance DTP/Production Specialist will work closely with all members of the production team, including the Art Director, Senior Writer, and principals to help define and evolve ongoing projects.

Ideally, you have at least a couple years of experience that have given you a very strong understanding of production. You can quickly re-size an ad, color-correct photos, and pre-flight files going out the door.

You are detail-oriented and enjoy making sure all the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed. You like working with art directors and can execute based on their designs and comps. You also have good design skills of your own that we can call on when needed.

You're especially valuable if you've been doing some web design/coding and will be comfortable setting up new web pages and making changes to existing ones.

Software Skills Include:

Adobe Photoshop
Adobe InDesign (QuarkXPress acceptable, but not preferred)
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Acrobat

Also Helpful:

HTML, CSS, Java
Macromedia Dreamweaver (Adobe GoLive acceptable, but not preferred)
Microsoft Word
Microsoft PowerPoint

You would be working independently much of the time, from your home studio, with primary responsibility for preparing files to specifications provided.
